The two old rivals are readying themselves for what is set to be a huge clash at the top end of the Scottish Premiership table as they face off at Ibrox.
Speaking to the media ahead of the Sunday lunchtime meeting, the midfielder feels it is on the players to perform in order to gain the support from the fans to try drive them to a positive result, he said: “I think when the crowd is like what it was against Hearts, it just helped everyone on the pitch.
“It is up to us to make sure that the crowd is behind us by playing offensive, front-footed, attacking football.
“We are making sure that our plan with the manager is a good one to go, and we are getting ready for Sunday.
“It is a massive game for the club and us, so we are making sure our preparation is right, and we just can't wait to be at the game.”
“If you win the game, you get a boost of confidence.
“It is a massive game, but after that, the next league game is also three points, and the next one also is.
“There are still 10 games to be played, loads of things can happen, so it is not going to be do or die tomorrow, but obviously it is going to be a massive push for the one that wins.”
The Belgium has had a big impact in the derby matches he has featured in during recent times. He admits it was difficult not to be involved the last time they met at the home of the Gers, but is keen to make an impact on a fixture he relishes being involved in.
He continued: “It was difficult because that is the kind of game you really love to play in.
“The pressure, the tension in that game, is what brings the best out of you.
“It is just in the past, so I will just look forward to the next game and try to give everything to make it a good end to the season.
“Fans singing his name? I was watching the game on TV, so I could hear everything.
“Derby bringing the best out of him? I don't know why; it is just an exciting fixture.
“It is just one you look ahead to when the calendar comes out.
“It's three points like the next one and the next one, so it is just making sure that we get the win and we look forward to the next one.”
The Gers number 43, who turned 25 years of age earlier this week, spoke of the turnaround in fortunes at the club under Danny Röhl and how he feels the four January recruits have had a positive impact on the squad since their arrival.
He added: “It is a big turnaround, I think the manager has been a big part of this. He brought us freshness, calmness, stability and some confidence.
“It is really good to see where we came from to now but we make sure we keep going because there is no point doing all of this to just lose everything else so why that is why we now focus on the last 10 games and we need to make sure we make it.
“January signings? I think we are all delighted to have them here, That gave us a fresh boost of energy of everything so it is just good to see them adapting and being directly into the team and squad.
“Role after Chukwuani’s arrival? "My role didn't really change to be fair.
“We just try to link with each other, I just try learn how Tochi plays, try to learn how I play and then we just to try make it a good thing all together.
“It takes time for players to really connect with each other on the pitch.
“It took us with Dio a lot of time and Connor as well but hopefully we can keep building a good relationship all the midfielders together and have a strong midfield for going forward.”
