CURRENT FORM
Dundee currently lie in fourth place in the Scottish Championship after suffering relegation from the top-flight last season.
The Tayside club have endured a mixed run of results this term, returning to winning ways with a 2-1 home win over Ayr United at the weekend.
The Dee sealed their spot in the last eight of the Premier Sports Cup with a 3-0 victory over Falkirk in the previous round after winning all four of their group stage matches.
MANAGER
Dundee are coached by Gary Bowyer after the 51-year-old was appointed as manager to succeed Mark McGhee over the summer.
The Englishman made his mark as a head coach following an impressive stint with Blackpool, guiding them straight back into EFL League One with a young squad of players.
Bowyer went on to have spells in charge of Bradford City and Salford City, where he narrowly missed out on the play-offs in EFL League Two with the latter at the end of last season.
STYLE OF PLAY
Dundee tend to line up in an attacking 4-4-2 formation, with their 19 goals scored this season making them the third highest scorers in the Scottish Championship.
Bowyer’s side attack through their speedy wingers in Paul McMullan and Luke McCowan, with both making an impression in the top flight last season.
They are also marshalled in defence by the experienced central defensive duo of Ryan Sweeney and Jordan McGhee, with Lee Ashcroft also an experienced member of the defensive ranks.
KEY PLAYER
Former Rangers Academy product Zak Rudden has netted four times in 11 league appearances this term and can be a handful in front of goal.
The 22-year-old joined Dundee permanently from Partick Thistle in the summer after spending the second half of last season on loan at the Tayside club.
PREVIOUS MEETINGS
Dundee were the opponents when Alex McLeish’s Gers side sealed a memorable treble in 2002/03 as Lorenzo Amoruso signed off in style as a Rangers player by netting the only goal of the game in the Scottish Cup final in Hampden.
More recently, Rangers have won their last five straight meetings against Dundee stretching back to the 2018/19 campaign.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s men were also 3-0 winners when the Tayside club last visited Ibrox, with Joe Aribo and Alfredo Morelos on the scoresheet last season.
