With the squad now full-time professionals, Thomson says young girls will be able to identify with players on the pitch as they strive to reach the top level of Women’s football.
Speaking to RangersTV, he said: “I think every player wants that light at the end of the tunnel to believe that they make that grade and that they are going to get to the next level and push themselves.
“For young girls and any young football player out there that is looking at the game they can now aspire to be a player that we’ve got.
“I think it will be great if we can pull some crowds because we are a big family here anyway.
“The coaches all buy in and the supporters as well, you have been at Ibrox and the noise that they create and the support and the backing they give the team is second to none – dare I say it maybe the best in the world.”
Thomson is looking forward to the new campaign, and says getting the girls to understand how each other play is a key part of pre-season preparations.
He added: “It has been really good, it has been hard and I think the girls have seen a difference from what they have been used to doing.
“There’s a lot of support help around we’ve got the sports science department, the medical department, everything is there and other coaches as well.
“It is a new dressing room getting the understanding and getting a respect for each other it has been good.
“It will take some time for them to understand how they play and what style of play they have got then married in to the type of football we want to play at Rangers.”
