The Gers ran out resounding 4-1 winners over Stenhhousemuir at Forthbank Stadium to set up a last-eight meeting away to Queen’s Park of the Scottish Championship next month.
It means the Light Blues have bettered their performance from last season’s competition – where they exited at the hands of Airdrieonians in the last 16 – and Nsio says the side are determined to go all the way.
Speaking to RangersTV after the victory, the 18-year-old commented: “We’ve been training for this game and we played a game last week in preparation for this.
“I’m proud of the boys and well done to us for getting to the next round. I know there are many more to come.
“The message before the game? It was just about winning and getting through to the next round.
“To get to the quarter-finals, then hopefully progress further, is a big motivation for the team.
“We just need to have it in our heads about winning each game and hopefully we can make the final.”
Nsio was an impressive performer in midfield, teeing up Danilo in the first half before assisting Findlay Curtis’ second goal of the evening – and Rangers’ third – midway into the second period.
The Englishman endeavours to play with a smile on his face and he admits he relished the physical battle against an experienced Stenhousemuir midfield.
Manager Philippe Clement was also in attendance alongside his backroom staff and Nsio hopes that he caught the eye of those watching.
He added: “Anything can happen, so when they’re watching it’s about being the best on the pitch and showing them what I’m capable of.
“I just like to do my thing when I have space around me, and that’s what I did.
“I’m happy that we won and credit to both Findlay and Danilo for their goals.
“Their number six was a huge. I had Kerr [Robertson] next to me in the second half who is a bit smaller, so I had to dominate around the ball.
“I had to try and move him off the ball physically when he had it. I need to work on my physical side, but I’m delighted overall.”
