The Gers make the trip across the M8 motorway looking to return to winning ways after suffering their first domestic defeat of the calendar year last time out in the Scottish Cup.
Speaking to the media ahead of this weekend’s clash in the Scottish Premiership, Clement commented: “It’s been a very long week compared to all the rest.
“After a defeat like that where you’re full of frustrations about the result you want to get a game as fast as possible to do the right things.
“We want to give the fans the right things also.
“I understand the frustrations of people.
“I want to fight for this club and to get the results which we had in the weeks before, and to continue developing this team and make it better.
“We didn’t see it on the pitch on Sunday and they acknowledge that.
“This team is also really honest if they didn’t perform.
“They were all devastated like me and the staff after the game, but now it’s about looking forward and reacting.
“If you have a defeat as an athlete you cannot dwell on it because then you throw away all these other opportunities. We all need to react.”
The Light Blues make the trip to the capital seeking a fifth successive league victory on Sunday.
Undoubtedly last weekend’s Scottish Cup exit at the hands of Queen’s Park was a frustrating afternoon, but Clement says his side must channel the disappointment and engineer a positive display and victory against Neil Critchley’s men.
The Gers boss also remains convinced by the potential of his growing side.
Clement added: “I know how great this place can be if you have success and win trophies. That is my hunger and desire.
“It was a choice that I made before I came compared with other teams who were interested, and it’s still the case.
“It was a really hard moment and I understand the reaction, but I know also the other reactions from the past and how great this place can be.
“My determination is to make the story better, day and night, and to get the consistency which we have now for a longer period.
“We need to build consistency with the squad – winning every three days – as that’s what fans expect.
“It’s a challenging one with the resources at the moment, and the club also wanted to do more things in January.
“I’m really excited about the evolution of all these players and where it will get to. I see a lot of potential in that.”
