Ianis Hagi opened the scoring early in the game, before second-half goals from Robin Propper and Danilo rounded-off the dominant derby display.
Speaking to RangersTV at full-time, he said: “The team got their reward for all of the hard work in the last couple of months and we didn’t get this reward in the last couple of weeks.
“If I look back at the Tottenham game, we could’ve won, and the League Cup for sure. You need one moment, the reward for all the hard work and they took it today.
“That is what we want to see, this mentality to grab all of the moments, to play this kind of football in this tempo. It is really important that people outside of the building can see all the hard work that is being done by the players in the last couple of months and this team is growing to become better.
“Everybody took responsibility, everybody was fighting, there was good coaching on the pitch, and the desire to show the fans what we can do to give them the win.
“There were a lot of good things, we stuck to the plan that we had before the game and didn’t change when we were leading, but we kept on doing what we had to do in this game, and they did very very well.”
Clement said it is important the squad can now use this performance as a benchmark moving forward, with a trip to Easter Road to face Hibernian next up in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday.
He continued: “I am very proud of all of them, but we need to continue this way, this is only important if they get the mentality to do it every three days and if they also get the physicality to do it every three days. It is now about confirming this against Hibs again and then three days after because this is what this club is about, and this is the culture we need to create in the dressing room.
“We don't have the financial situation to buy depth in the squad, we need to build depth in the squad month after month. We need to continue in that way and then we can get with all the hard work this club back where it belongs and that is my mission.”
