The match ended 2-1 to the Eredivisie side, but the Gers boss felt it was a good test for his squad as they rounded off a tough pre-season training camp in the Netherlands.
Speaking to RangersTV at full-time he said: “It was an interesting test, that is what we want, difficult tests in the preparations.
"This was a game on a European level against a good team and we knew also that they had been longer in preparations because they have qualifying games, so it was a really good test and I saw a lot of interesting and positive things.
“We created really good chances against them with a few really good combinations through the midfield. We have several midfielders who are already reaching really good form like Diomande, Connor Barron, Tom Lawrence also today.
Scott Wright came on in a good way in the second-half, he was being dangerous and then for the squad it is about killing off the chances of course that is crucial.”
With a number of young players in the squad, Clement said experiences like this afternoon can help them grow.
He continued: “It has been a really tough week and they have done a lot of training, they had heavy legs. We went down a bit yesterday to create some freshness again otherwise it would've been a problem and we risk injuries, but they had a really really big load this week.
“It is good for the young guys to get experience like this. One of them came to me after the to say it is difficult to press them because even if you give them one yard they are free and that is the difference so it is really important they get experiences like this growing.”
On the return of Danilo, who came on in the second-half for his first appearance since December, Clement added: “It is great to see his smile again, we saw him smiling in the building but to see him on the pitch after seven horror months for him is great because he loves to play football so much so it is important to give him these minutes and to build him up for the whole season.”
