After falling behind to an Eilidh Adams penalty and heading for defeat in the capital, goalkeeper Jenna Fife was on hand to deny the striker a second from the spot before substitute Rio Hardy popped up with a late equaliser as the Gers claimed a 1-1 draw in Edinburgh.
Speaking to RangersTV after the match, the head coach said: “We have stayed in the game, I am proud of them for staying in the game and getting us back into it.
“I never thought that we should have been behind in the first place but it is unfortunate.
“It is hard because you are unsure how to feel in those moments because the players have done so well, to create moments and opportunities.
“Yes we could have been a little bit better in taking our chances, we have hit the woodwork twice.
“We probably don't create much in the second half but you are against these winds that is so hard to play against so it is one of those I am sure I will reflect and know a bit more about how I feel tomorrow but I am super proud of the players for digging in and staying in the game and managing to get a point out of it.”
The former Lioness heaped praise on the sub for finding the back of the net from the bench for the second game running with the Gers now heading into the first international break of the campaign following the game.
She added: “Every single player that stepped on that pitch today they have done a great job.
“The ability just to stay in moments like that, she scores goals and I want more of that from her.
“She has done that today, she done it last week, it is a really important part of our game. I am really proud of all the players today and super grateful for Rio for sticking it in the back of the net.”
“It is needed and we are still unbeaten in the league so it is really important.
“You look and that could be one of those moments where you take the point, it could all work out towards the end of the season.
“I said this team and Hearts are never easy teams to play against.
“We have managed to stay unbeaten throughout that. It will be a good time to reflect but I feel like it was important to go into this first international break unbeaten.”
