The Light Blues had to fight against windy conditions at the Balmoral Stadium but continued their fantastic form to register another three points on their return to SWPL action.
Speaking to RangersTV after the victory, the head coach acknowledged how difficult a match it was but says the most important outcome was getting the win.
She commented: “It is tough to look back on the game straight away because the conditions were terrible.
“It is tough when you come to a place like this and try to play a certain way and the conditions don't help.
“The main thing for me today was three points and keeping that gap at the top and maintaining our league form and pushing all the way.
“We scored two goals today; we could have scored a couple more but the biggest thing was three points definitely.”
The former Lioness was full of praise for the match winner as her double was the difference in the outcome overall.
She continued: “That is what Rachel is about. It is that little bit of quality at that moment in time. That is what all of our forward players do. If it not Rio, it is Rachel, if it not Rachel it can be Kirsty.
“If it is not Kirsty it's Jane and Sarah, then you have got Brogan and Mia, they all dip in with goals all the time. It is good we have got a plethora of players that can put the ball in the back of the net for us and we were lucky enough that Rowey can come up with two today.
“We knew when we were going to get Rachel fit we knew that she was going to be force to be reckoned with. You can see that, team's look at her as a threat and you can see how much she gets targeted in games. It is looking after her when we can and hopefully the officials looking after her when they can. She is a great player, you can see what she can do, it is just moments of magic and she has won the game for us today.”
Potter was pleased her side were still able to keep control of the game despite conceding at the start of the second half and said it was important they found a different way to win to cement themselves at the top of the standings.
She added: “It is a goal that we have given them. It is a mistake but we ask our players to play a certain way, we want them to be brave.
“We are never going to not do that; we are going to want to continue to play a certain way. It is just the character after that.
“We always looked in control and we still created many chances after that. It is just so difficult when you are against the wind in that second half and we knew it was going to be up against us. Looking at it is three points and job done and down the road really.
“It is hard for us; we haven't really come up against these conditions. We have probably done everything other than wind this season right now.
“It is difficult when it is cold and it's snowy, but personally when I was playing I think wind is the worst condition to play in, it just levels the field. You can't really judge much of what you would do and you can't really judge whether it is going to stay in the air or run through or hold up.
“It does cause a little bit of hesitation and panic and you could see that at moments in the game. I thought we could have made it a little bit calmer, but it is tough to ask in conditions like this. It is three points and remaining top of the league.”
