David McCallum’s side are fresh back from their Erasmus trip to Portugal for their first competitive game of 2020.
The Gers, who are holders of the trophy, have already beaten Celtic and Ross County to get to this stage.
Defender Leon King is hoping they can keep their unbeaten start to the 2019/20 season going.
He said:
“It’ll be good to go if we can go and win in again because obviously we won it last year we put up a good performance in the last round of the cup so we are looking to go again and get another good performance.
“The 18’s we haven’t really been tested this season we’ve gone unbeaten so far so just to keep that going would be great.”
In the last meeting of the sides the Gers ran out 6-0 winners in the league, but head coach David McCallum feels it is different going into a one-off cup tie.
He explained: “We played them in November and obviously they will think back to that game as will we and we will look at where we think we can get good positive play.
“We obviously recognise Thistle might try and make it difficult for us in different ways so I think we will go into the game with a real positive frame of mind but we can’t be too complacent.
“We will look at our performance first and foremost and we believe when our players perform at the level they can do they can be a difficult challenge for any team.”
