It meant the forward, still only 16, lifted two league titles within hours of each other, capping off a terrific campaign where he has made several appearances playing up a level with the Under-19s.
His goal at Ibrox, a special moment for any player, was certainly one of quality, spotting the goalkeeper off his line before lifting an audacious lob from 40 yards into the back of the net.
Speaking to the official Rangers website, Hall said of a whirlwind day: “Coming on as one of the younger Under-19s players and contributing to the winning goal, then coming along to Ibrox later in the evening and scoring for the Under-17s is unbelievable. It’s been a great season for us.
“It was all a bit of a whirlwind because I didn’t know how many minutes that I’d play for each.
“But I was just happy to play, get on the pitch for both teams, and help contribute to the wins.”
After winning the free-kick in the dying embers at St. Mirren, Hall recalls his thought process as Lawson stood over the ball on the edge of the penalty area.
He continued: “Originally I was standing on the edge of the penalty box and I said to him that I had a free shot, but he looked at me and just gave me that look of ‘nah’.
“I then just saw it fly top bins and thought ‘fair enough’. Zeb is an unbelievable player and I’m happy for him too.”
For Hall, double duty crowned a campaign where he was introduced to the Under-17s for the first time while also being challenged several years above his age at Under-19s level.
Indeed, he was on the scoresheet against Queen’s Park in Glasgow Cup group stage action to earn Rangers a point earlier this season, underlining his capacity to make a difference at the top end of the pitch.
Hall added: “The start of the season was a challenge to get into the Under-19s squad, then I finally got a chance and scored on my debut. I’m happy to be playing and being involved in those squads.
“The physicality is a big step from Under-17s to Under-19s. But I just need to be quick off the mark, agile, and pass the ball around them.
“The UEFA Youth League? It will be a very good experience and I can’t wait to play in the competition.”
