The triumph catapulted the Gers back into top spot in the ScottishPower Women’s Premier League heading into the international hiatus, with Rowe and fellow summer arrival Sarah Ewens getting off the mark in Rangers colours.
Speaking to RangersTV after the victory, Rowe couldn’t wipe the smile off her face: “I’m really happy that I’ve played my part.
“It’s been a rollercoaster start to the season, but I’m feeling fresh halfway through and the girls are really performing.
“I’m happy to get my first goal because it’s good for the confidence and morale, but overall I’m happy with the result.
“[The goal] was a bit unexpected to be honest. It was a great effort and I made the run, but I thought I was offside. The goalkeeper has then parried it and it was a tap-in.
“It’s not the type of goal that I would score normally, but I was there in the right position fortunately.”
The Light Blues have now racked up consecutive 7-0 scorelines at Broadwood Stadium this campaign, with a brace from Kirsty Howat, as well as strikes from Tessel Middag, Lizzie Arnot and Rio Hardy, warming the hearts of the Rangers supporters who braved the cold weather in Lanarkshire.
Rowe, who joined the club from Reading in the summer, says the scoreline is testament to the ruthless edge within the dressing room, while she also paid tribute to Ewens’ goalscoring contribution.
She added: “Getting a goal as an attacking player is always a priority, and as a number nine you always want to score so I’m really happy for Sarah. She has had a bit of a hard start to the campaign as well, so it’s great for her to get on the pitch and get a goal.
“It’s about never taking any opponent for granted and thinking we’re just going to roll into any game and win. We train hard, we play hard, and we’re relentless.
“I feel that I’m just really getting into my element now. There is certainly better to come from me.”
