Rachel Rowe Named SWPL Player of the Month For January

RACHEL ROWE has been named the ScottishPower Women’s Premier League Player of the Month winner for January.

The midfielder enjoyed a fantastic month for the Light Blues as they started the new year in style, winning all four games across three different competitions as they continued their fantastic domestic form.

The Wales international played an influential part with the Gers progressing to the next round of the Scottish Cup to start 2024 after the winter break, scoring twice and providing an assist in a convincing win in the highlands.

A player of the match performance was to follow for the 31-year-old as Rangers booked their place in the Sky Sports Cup final with an Old Firm victory over Celtic before she was the difference maker in the final game of the month with two goals in the 2-1 victory over Aberdeen.

Speaking after winning the award for the first time after making the switch to the club in the summer, she said: “It feels good, I think you get credited for something but the bigger picture is that we have had a good month as a club so credit to the girls as well for this.

“I think the main thing is we're still unbeaten, that is in all tournaments and the league obviously so it is brilliant.

“It is what you want to be doing isn't it, is staying consistent. We have done that off the back of the Christmas break and got better and better as the month has gone on.”
