The Light Blues will host the second leg of the last eight tomorrow night as they aim to replicate their last meeting against the Portuguese side in front of the Gers support two years ago.
Speaking to the media at the pre-match press conference, Ramsey expressed his experiences playing in front of the home fans since joining the club in January and the expectations that come with the badge.
He said: “They’ve been absolutely amazing; I heard the stories before coming here with what they are like, and they’ve been absolutely unbelievable.
“The atmosphere in the Old Firm game was unbelievable, it will forever stay with me. Hopefully, they can be with us again in the coming games and help us get through.
“I came here to play in these big games, this is a huge game for us now. Hopefully I can play some part and have a night to remember.
“I came here to win and have the opportunity to play and show what I’m capable of doing, but the main thing was that we’re in three competitions and we want to be successful in all of them.
“We’re playing the quarter finals of the European Cup, that’s huge for us to progress. For me personally, I’d love to go all the way and win this competition as for all the players and the fans – if we’re all on board together and heading in the same direction I’m sure we can make this a special campaign.”
The versatile midfielder reflected on last Thursday’s match against the Portuguese side and wants to make an impact as the Gers look to close the one goal deficit tomorrow night, with the aim to progress to the next stage of the tournament.
He added: “In the last game you could see that they were a very technical team and like to get bodies forward, so we’re going to have to up our game again – there are no easy team’s at this stage and we’re going to have to give it everything to make sure that we leave every ounce of it out there because that’s going to be what’s required to progress.
“They do have some good young players; we saw that in the last match. We have players who have a little more experience in these games, but at the end of the day we just have to be focussed on our game.
"Hopefully now I can play a part tomorrow and show what I am capable of doing to help the team progress to the next round.”
