RANGERS Football Club are delighted to announce that Chris Flockhart has been appointed the new Head of Women's and Girls’ Goalkeeping.
Flockhart brings to the Gers a wealth of Scottish football experience and knowledge in both a playing and coaching capacity, having played for several junior and non-league clubs.
The former shot stopper makes the move from SWPL club Hearts, whilst also having previous spells with both Hibs and Spartans and also coaching at Scotland Under-19s level.
A former player for the likes of Berwick Rangers and Spartans, the 40-year-old will help strengthen Jo Potter’s backroom staff further as they continue their positive start to the new domestic season.
On the incoming coach joining the Light Blues, Women’s and Girls’ Managing Director Donald Gillies, commented: “We are delighted to bring Chris in this entirely new position at the club.
“Creating a role that oversees the development of goalkeepers within the Girls Academy, as well as the delivery of first-team goalkeeper coaching has been a strategic priority for some time.
“Chris has been a leader in this area for some time at club and national team level, and to have someone of his quality leading this for the club is extremely exciting.”
