Currently in the role of Technical Director at Colorado Rapids Youth Soccer Club in the United States, he will bring a wealth of experience to the club having been involved within football development for over 20 years.
His role previous to working at Colorado Rapids Youth Soccer Club was as Head of Girls and Women’s Football at the Scottish Football Association, where he was responsible for multiple facets of the female game from grassroots, regional and national performance, and he will now be working closely alongside head coach Jo Potter in his new role.
Speaking ahead of beginning his new post in the New Year, he said: “I am incredibly excited to be given the opportunity to return to Scotland at such a prestigious club.
“The investment in the girls and women’s game in the country has continued to increase, but the quality of programming and people at Rangers, coupled with its ambitions is immensely exciting to be part of.
“I am looking forward to supporting Jo, the staff and the players, and build upon the tremendous vision for the girls and women’s programme at the club.”
Chief Executive Officer, James Bisgrove, added: “I am delighted to welcome Donald to the club as our new Women’s and Girls Managing Director.
“He will be tasked with growing all aspects of the Rangers Women’s programme, including driving increased matchday attendances and commercial revenues, aligned with the sporting performance, alongside Jo Potter, as the team continues to take great strides on the pitch.''
