Rangers Announce Signing of Libby Bance

RANGERS Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of Libby Bance from Brighton & Hove Albion on a season-long loan deal, subject to international clearance.

The midfielder, who is a product of the English club’s youth academy, becomes Jo Potter’s fifth signing of the summer transfer window ahead of today’s deadline.

Born in Kingston upon Thames in southwest London, the youngster joined the Women’s Super League club in 2015 aged 12. Making her professional debut in November 2019 against London Bees in a League Cup match.

The 20-year-old made her first WSL appearance for the Albion the following year, featuring as a substitute in a 1-0 win over West Ham United in November 2020. In June 2021 her progression saw her involved with her national team at youth level for the first time, as she appeared in a training camp for England U19s.

Having made 10 appearances in the previous season Bance signed her first professional contract with the club at the beginning of the 2021/22 campaign, agreeing terms on a two-year deal.

She has now run out for her current club on 39 occasions in total, including 18 starts in both the league and cup. Bance signed a contract extension in August 2023 but will now make the temporary switch to Glasgow on a deal until the summer of 2024.

Speaking after making the move to Rangers, Bance said: “It feels really amazing, I got here and had a tour of the facilities and they are top notch, and I have met some of the girls and they all seem lovely too.

“I spoke to Jo and I think almost immediately I had a gut feeling that this was the right decision for me. I just felt like it is a really great opportunity for me this season, to get more minutes and have a brand new experience.”
