RANGERS B will compete in the prestigious Hong Kong Soccer Sevens tournament once again this year, which kicks off this Saturday morning.
Gers B have been a regular fixture at the unique seven-a-side tournament over the years and they will return to the tournament after lifting the Main Plate twelve months ago.
The competition resumed after a four-year hiatus last year, with Rangers having lost out in the final of the 2018 and 2019 edition to Newcastle United.
David McCallum’s side have been drawn into Group C this year alongside Fulham, Hong Kong Football Club, and Hong Kong, China.
All group stage matches will take place on Saturday, with the knockout phase of the Main Cup, Main Shield and Main Plate competitions being played on Sunday.
The top two teams in each group will advance to the quarter-finals of the Main Cup competition, while the third and fourth placed teams will drop into the quarter-finals of the Main Plate knockout competition.
The losing quarter-finalists from the Main Cup competition will then contest the Main Shield knockout competition, of which a semi-final and final will be played.
Each game has two seven-minute halves with a one-minute half-time break, while the final is ten minutes each half.
Rangers are one of seven British sides competing in the tournament, alongside Aston Villa, Fulham, Brighton and Hove Albion, West Ham United, Newcastle United and Leicester City.
Live streaming will be available on the official Hong Kong Soccer Sevens YouTube channel, while you can also stay up to date with kick-off times and full-time updates on Twitter @RFC_Youth.
