Rangers Academy Players Head For International Duty

INTERNATIONAL duty calls for several of Rangers’ Academy players as they look to gain valuable experience with their respective countries.

Below is a rundown of the players in action over the next seven days, including fixtures, dates and kick-off times:

Alex Lowry, Leon King – Scotland Under-21s

Alex and Leon will once again represent Scotland at Under-21 level as Scot Gemmill’s side jet off to Andalusia to face Spain in qualifying for the UEFA Under-21 European Championships.

The former has enjoyed regular minutes both domestically and in Europe after making the switch to Hearts on loan this season, while Leon continues to be a permanent fixture in Michael Beale’s first-team squad.

Indeed, the 19-year-old defender was called up to train with Steve Clarke’s senior squad ahead of their crucial 2024 European Championships qualifiers against Norway and Georgia in the summer.

The 20-year-old has enjoyed an impressive start to his campaign at B Team level, finding the net on four separate occasions already.

The attacker has represented Northern Ireland through the youth age groups and will be keen to play a crucial role in his side’s bid to collect maximum points in the upcoming double-header.
