RANGERS have been well-represented in the ScottishPower Women’s Football Awards Nominees Shortlist for 2025.
The yearly event is the most prominent annual celebration of women’s football at all levels in Scotland, with the awards celebrating success both on and off the pitch.
An all-women panel of judges will now choose the winners, which will be announced at the ceremony on 29 November at Hampden Park in Glasgow.
Among the nominees shortlisted for the Gers is firstly striker Katie Wilkinson, who has been nominated for SWPL Player of the Year having enjoyed a fantastic first season in Scottish football. Netting an impressive 39 goals in league action to claim the top goalscorer award, whilst helping her team to a domestic cup double.
On loan forward Sophie Townsley has been nominated for the SWPL 2 Player of the Year award, having spent the last campaign with now promoted Hamilton Academical having helped the team to the title in Scotland’s second tier as they bounced back from relegation at the first time of asking, before linking back up with the club on a temporary basis earlier this summer.
Former head coach Jo Potter is also up for the Coach of the Year award, having helped her side claim both the Sky Sports and Scottish Cup in her second season in charge of the Gers before departing for Crystal Palace in the summer.
Goalkeeper Megan Cunningham has also been recognised for her achievements both on and off the pitch as she has been nominated for the Kat Lindner Award for Outstanding Athletic and Academic Achievement. Combining both playing as well as being a full-time firefighter away from the game.
