Rangers Sign Midfielder Juninho Bacuna

JUNINHO BACUNA last night became Rangers’ latest signing, agreeing a deal until the summer of 2023.

The midfield man, 24, arrives from Huddersfield Town and boasts top-flight experience in both England and the Netherlands in his career so far.

He will offer the club yet more competition in the midfield area, and, as our exclusive pictures show, joined his new teammates in training this morning.

After penning his deal, a delighted Bacuna commented: "It is great that a team like Rangers is interested in you, especially after they have become the champions.

"To become a part of that means a lot and I am ready to start going and improving myself, learn from the boys and learn from the manager.

"I cannot wait to begin."

Commenting on his arrival, Sporting Director, Ross Wilson, said: “Juninho is a player whose qualities we have admired for a considerable period of time.

The structure of this agreement in terms of the contract and transfer agreement works for us at this time. I know that Juninho has been very focussed on a new and exciting challenge and that’s certainly what he now has here at Rangers.

“We know that he will enjoy playing and developing even further working with Steven and our coaching and performance staff.”

Manager Steven Gerrard, added: “He is a really big talent, everyone should be really excited and really looking forward to seeing him play.

"We have to be patient with him, but he just needs the right support around him, the right environment to keep progressing and growing and I believe we have got the right staff and the right players in the dressing room for that.

“He is an attacking midfielder, he has got good range of passing and he is a powerful boy so he has got a lot of tools in his locker so if he can put everything around that and we can give him the right place to evolve then he should be a big player for this club.”
