The Light Blues host University of Stirling tomorrow afternoon in the Lowland League as they try get back to winning ways and maintain their impressive home record at Dumbarton Stadium.
The Young Gers currently sit four points off leaders Spartans with three games to go and the full-back wants his side to take care of their own results and see what happens elsewhere in the games that remain.
He said: “It is hugely important, if we do our business obviously you try and hope teams round you falter a bit, as long as we do our bit that is all that matters.
“It will be a really tough game, they are a real good team as you can see with their league position, it will be a real battle, but they like to play as well, they are not shy of playing and obviously we like to as well so it will be an interesting game.
“From last year to this there is a big difference in them, they are a good football team, but obviously they like to battle so we need to be really up for it.”
The left-back believes there were positives to take from their first half performance in their last clash and hopes the side can deliver three points tomorrow against the side currently level on points with them in the table.
He continued: “There was lot of positives when you look at it, maybe the result doesn't show that but there was, it was actually some of the best football that we have played, especially in that first half, we analysed it well and we just need to try take it forward now.
“The message was a little bit different this week off the back of the Old Firm game in terms of how it went, we just said that we need to get our groove back together and try take it into the next game and get the three points.”
The Rangers captain has reflected on the season as a whole as it approaches its conclusion and says he embraces his role in the side as they now look to kick on for the matches that remain.
He added: “I think the majority of the season has been pretty good but obviously you want to be a bit higher.
“We have dropped a few points here and there which we maybe should have got on the board but that happens in football, it is just about trying to get things right as you move forward.
“As the captain you have got a different type of role, you need to be more of a motivator and a leader, but I like that type of role, I am one of the older boys so I try go round them as much as I can and try get the best out of everybody.
“We have got a few fixtures in the league and then the Glasgow Cup to try push on and hopefully pick up a trophy or two.”
You can still get your hands on tickets for the clash at Dumbarton Stadium kicking off at 3:00pm HERE.
