Goals from Bailey Rice and Findlay Curtis either side of half-time sealed the Light Blues’ place in the next round in what was a positive display and outcome for Cameron Campbell’s young side.
Speaking to RangersTV following the triumph, Robertson was pleased with his side’s performance levels throughout the 90 minutes: “We’re delighted to get through to the next round.
"We’re really happy with the team performance and the levels that we reached so all the lads are delighted with how we played.
“There was plenty more chances for us to take, but on the night we’ve only taken a couple. We’re really pleased with the amount of chances we created and how we created those chances.
"The way we play, we’re typically going to dominate the ball, so that was really pleasing. We’re happy with that.”
Robertson formed an effective tandem with goalscorer Rice in the centre of the pitch, and the young midfielder says his side will continue to take each challenge as it comes in the competition.
He continued: “Playing with Bailey [Rice] is brilliant. I’m pleased with the level I reached tonight and satisfied with it all.
“The end goal [is to win the cup], but round-by-round we need to focus on the games and hopefully we can reach that end goal.”
