TUUR ROMMENS was thrilled to notch his first Rangers goal and secure all three points against St Mirren.
The Belgian defender got on the end of Nico Raskin’s cross to fire home from close range just after the half hour mark in Paisley - his first goal in nearly three years.
Rommens knows it wasn’t a perfect performance from Danny Röhl’s men, but he is well aware securing all three points was the most important thing.
With eight games to go in the William Hill Scottish Premiership, the left-back wants to keep picking up the victories for the rest of the campaign.
Speaking exclusively to RangersTV, he said: “I am very happy, it was a good moment to score, but the win was the most important thing.
“The result was perfect, it was about winning today and we did our job.
“We showed that resilience, away games are tough in this league, and they are different to playing at home.
“Away games are the battle, but the most important thing is the three points and we did that.
“It is close at the top of the league and we need to try to win the games and then see where we end up.
“We knew the results from yesterday, but we had to do our job and win the game.”
Rommens has impressed since making the January switch from Westerlo in his homeland.
He is loving life in Scotland and believes his new team-mates and club staff have made him feel right at home already.
Now with Aberdeen the next visitors to Ibrox next Saturday night, he thinks having a few days rest ahead of another important league fixture can only benefit the squad.
He added: “It is a wonderful club and I love it here. It is a nice city as well.
“It is a little bit difficult when you move to a new club as you don’t know how the team plays, but it is a great group and they have helped me a lot, so all is good.
“We have Aberdeen next Saturday, so it is nice to have a bit of rest and we will be ready for the next match.”
