Ryan Naderi: Unbelievable Feeling To Make Rangers Debut

RYAN NADERI was over the moon to make his debut for Rangers after a whirlwind few days at the club.

Making the switch late on deadline day from Hansa Rostock, the German striker appeared off the bench in the Gers’ 5-1 Scottish Premiership win over Kilmarnock just two days later.

Speaking to the media, looking ahead to the team’s next outing as attention turns to the Scottish Cup this weekend, he shared his delight: “My debut? Wow, it was unbelievable to be honest.

“I was a bit nervous just because it is a big step for me. I tried to enjoy it, enjoy every second, and it was an amazing feeling.

“Last few days? To be honest, it was stressful, but also there I tried to enjoy every second because it is just such a big step for me.

“I am just happy to be here, of course, I noticed the negotiations were a bit ongoing for the summer as well. I am just happy to be here now because I can give my input to the team already now and try to win the title.”

The 22-year-old gave an insight into his conversations with his new boss, Danny Röhl, who has compared the forward’s playstyle to the likes of Nick Woltemade and Fredi Bobic.

He continued: “First of all, it was a very nice first meeting. It is easier for me if I can just speak German to him.

“It is a big advantage; it was a nice conversation because it wasn't only about football.

“You try to know how the other person thinks and works in his head as well.

“Comparisons to other German strikers? It is a big honour, definitely, and I appreciate it.

“I will always try to play my own game, not to compare to something else and to focus on the strength I have. It is a big honour to be compared to those names.”

The forward knows the expectations that come with representing a club like Rangers, but says it is something he is looking to thrive on and take in his stride as he looks to hit the ground running in Glasgow.

He added: “It is huge expectations; I am well known about that and what we have to do here.

“For me personally, I just want to score goals, give a good impact in the games, and of course, the main target is to be at the top of the table and win the league.

“Player that thrives on pressure to score goals? Definitely, I am ready to do it; that's why I am here, and that's already been discussed as well, because the people here also know how I work.

“We had conversations, and I am definitely the type who will manage to work under pressure whilst here. I know what it means for the people as well, I am ready to give 100 per cent.

“It definitely was on my mind to just make good impressions at [Hansa] Rostock and make the next step, and I am just happy to be here.”
