RYDC is freshening up its half-time draw at Ibrox in 2019/20 and the hugely popular Rising Stars product will now be known as The Union Jackpot.
Fans can now buy tickets for the first Union Jackpot draw at tonight’s Europa League qualifier against Progres Niederkorn and there will be a guaranteed £10,000 prize for the first home league game of the season against Hibs in August.
In the past, supporters have bought Rising Stars tickets in their thousands at every home game – each priced £2 – and profits have helped fund the Light Blue stars of the future as more than £8 million has been donated to the Rangers Academy since 2002.
Fans shared in £140,000 worth of cash prizes last season by taking part in the half-time draw and up to £5,000 in cash was on offer at every game.
Now RYDC hope The Union Jackpot will be even more successful in the season ahead and beyond.
Director of Operations Colin Stewart explained: “Rangers fans always support RYDC in a variety of ways year after year and their incredible backing allows us to donate huge annual sums to the Rangers Academy.
“We will still make our yearly donations to the youth department but it’s important that fans appreciate they benefit as well and significant cash prizes are on offer at all matches. The prize amount is dictated by the number of tickets sold as it’s a 50/50 split. The prize on offer at each match will increase significantly if more supporters play.
“The more Union Jackpot tickets we sell, the higher the cash prize will be for our fans and ultimately more funds can be donated to the Academy. To help kick off the new season in style we are making the first home league game of the season against Hibs a £10,000 prize. Thereafter the prize amount will revert to 50/50. Hopefully more fans will buy tickets this season, which will lead to the prize money increasing.”
You must be 16 to play and The Union Jackpot will have three prizes on offer each matchday. The second prize is £250 and the third prize is £100.
The Union Jackpot ticket sellers will be positioned around Ibrox on matchdays and you can also buy online at www.rydc.co.ukor text 67766. You can also call the RYDC office on 0141 427 4914 to secure your tickets.
