YOUTH striker Matty Yates was the difference in the Under-18’s friendly against Fleetwood Town as he netting the penalty in the 1-0 victory.
The 17-year-old said he was always confident stepping up to the spot as he sent the keeper the wrong way to give Rangers the pre-season victory.
He said: “I’m always confident when I take penalties, I never miss.
“It was very good to get the clean sheet, you always want to try and keep a clean sheet as well.”
Yates played 90 minutes in this afternoon’s match and is pleased with how pre-season is going so far.
He added:
“We’ve played so far, a few games have been hard and we have got the win in most of them so it has been good.”
