The youngster was an impressive performer for the young Gers as they finished fifth at the tournament in Germany, placing them as the best-ranking foreign side.
McGuire joined the Rangers Academy full-time over the summer and admits he thrives on the pressure of being surrounded by older players.
Speaking to the official Rangers website, McGuire commented: “Ever since I was a young boy I’ve always been the youngest in a team.
“I’ve never been an experienced player, so coming away here there was no real nerves. I’m always used to it, and I always say to myself that I play better under pressure.
“I thrive under that and it was a really enjoyable tournament.”
The six-a-side format posed an interesting challenge for the goalkeepers, who were often used as the spare player when building attacks.
It is certainly a strength of McGuire’s game, with the teenager boasting the capacity to put his foot on the ball and distribute accurately downfield.
The teenager believes the Light Blues were unfortunate not to reach the final four of the competition, but says the side showed a good account of themselves in an unfamiliar environment.
He added: “The distribution aspect? I enjoy it because going in full-time with the Under-18s at the start of the season it’s a huge part of my game.
“It’s a weapon of mine playing out, breaking lines, and finding players. I really enjoyed it and it’s a part of my game which I love doing.
“I felt that [as a team] we could have went on to a better position than fifth as a team.
“We probably slipped up in some games that we thought we could get a result in, but finishing fifth you just have to enjoy the tournament and experience.
“We took a heavy defeat against Bayern, but you can tell they’re used to the game with the way that they play.
“It was beneficial that we played an English team first, and then we perhaps struggled more against the streetwise teams.
“We gave it our all and that’s all you can ask for in a tournament like this.”
