The Senegal international became a father for the first time last month and did the famous Bebeto cradle celebration after hitting the net.
Sima opened the scoring with a fine finish just before half-time, before sealing the victory over the Buddies with 20 minutes left after collecting Todd Cantwell’s inch-perfect pass.
It takes the wide man’s tally for the season to 11 and Sima says he will make sure to show his bundle of joy his big moment that stretched gaffer Philippe Clement’s unbeaten run to ten games.
Speaking to RangersTV, he said: “I really enjoyed scoring goals. For me it is an honour to score here and help the team to win the game.
“I wanted to score goals for my new-born, so those goals are for her.
“I hope she will see these goals when she grows up.”
The three points got the Gers back to winning ways after back-to-back 1-1 draws with Aberdeen and Aris Limassol.
The victory over Stephen Robinson’s men makes it now seven wins and three draws under new boss Clement.
Sima was delighted to get the victory to send the supporters home happy and he admits recent results weren’t good enough.
He added: “We wanted to be better today because we knew in the last two games they weren’t our best matches.
“We wanted to play well and I think we did that. We made a lot of runs and we won which is the most important thing.
“The win was really important and to have another clean sheet as well. It is always important for us.
“We have to win every game, especially at home, and that was what we wanted to do and we have done that.”
