Philippe Clement’s side can go top of the Premiership with a three-goal win over the Staggies in their rearranged Premiership clash.
But stopper Souttar says the Gers gaffer won’t let his squad think of anything other than trying to secure another victory.
He said: “We don’t pay much attention about going top, the gaffer has drummed it into us about it being game by game.
“We are in a bubble and our focus is on the next game and it doesn’t matter who is top now, it is what happens at the end of the season that matters.
“We have a spring in our step and are in a good place and now we have to keep it going.
“The gaffer has come in and everyone has bought into what he is doing. There is a real clarity and he rotates things, but the performances don’t fluctuate too much.
“The gaffer is not interested in the future, he is right in the now and day to day.
“We don’t think about future games, it is about the next one only and we have a real emphasis on that.
“That keeps us on our toes and with the squad we have you can’t think about taking your foot off it in one game to prepare for the next one.
“Everyone knows we have to be on it in every game and the manager has created that.”
Souttar made his 25th appearance of the season for the Gers in Saturday’s 2-0 Scottish Cup over Ayr United.
The Scotland international is delighted playing such a big part in helping Clement’s men to 13 clean sheets in 24 games under the Belgian.
But he knows no one can rest on their laurels as there is plenty of quality waiting to take his place.
He added: “I am enjoying being in the team and that’s where you want to be.
“When you play every week you get into a rhythm and it becomes more natural and that’s where I am right now.
“The intensity we train at, it allows you to stay in top form and I know we have four good centre-backs so it will chop and change sometimes.
“You have to adapt to that but when you are in you do everything you can to stay in it.
“When we are playing like we are then you want to be part of that.
“We have tried to cut out transitions, when we are dominating games with possession then there will be less chances for the opposition.
“We are determined to keep clean sheets, that is the whole team, not just Jack Butland and the defenders, it is a collective thing.
“When you are in the habit of doing something it becomes natural. When you get a few clean sheets then everyone buys into it and you are determined not to concede.
“It helps when you have Jack in goal as he is a top-class keeper and that helps.”
