The Light Blues progressed with a 1-0 aggregate victory over Alashkert in the play-off round last night to guarantee their place in the next stage of the competition.
The midfielder was speaking to the media this morning ahead of Sunday’s Old Firm derby.
He said: “Ultimately we are where we want to be in terms of being in the group stages and once the game finishes it's all about getting recovered and getting ready for Sunday which is going to be a massive game for us.
“We certainly know we can perform better but the most important thing is we have progressed and we have done it four seasons on the bounce now which is a great achievement.
“In football you are going to go through little spells when you are not hitting your best form and we even had them last season but you always have to stick to your principles.
“We have got a really good foundation here. We don't always get a lot of time on the pitch with the number of games but we have enough players in this squad who have been here long enough to know exactly what the manager wants from us.”
Davis says Rangers must show their quality as they prepare for the first Old Firm game of the season this weekend.
He continued: “Historically you can't go off previous results. We just know we need to be at our best to try and get a result and perform to our highest level and if we do that then we give ourselves a good opportunity to get the result we want.
“We know the quality we have got in this team, we just have to go and show it.”
