The Light Blue expressed his delight to reach the final stage of the tournament and proudly reflected on the resilience and determination shown by the team during the semi-final against Hibernian in February.
Speaking exclusively to RangersTV ahead of their well anticipated tie, he said: “All the boys are looking forward to it and it’s something we aimed to get to at the start of the season, hopefully we can go all the way now and win it at Hampden. We’re buzzing and can’t wait for the game.
“I think we have done well through the stages; right through to the tough game against Hibs where the boys showed great character to come back from 2-1 down at half time to win the match 4-2.
“We all know the quality that we’ve got in the team, and I think we just had to keep doing what we were doing. We played them off the park in the second half and deservedly won the game.”
The young Ger also discussed the squad’s excitement to play at the National Stadium with fans in the stands behind them.
He continued: “We’re all still playing U18s football so we’ve not had the chance to play in front of big crowds as there will hopefully be. We want everyone to perform to the best that they can and hopefully get the win.
“Personally, I haven’t played at it [Hamdpen] so it will be new for me, but I think it will be brilliant. I know the pitch is very big which is good for us so we can move the ball quick and play some good combinations to break through the Hearts backline.
“Hopefully, there is a lot of fans there. Some of us haven’t played in front of that many fans so it could be nerve-wracking for some of us but, I’m sure we will all be fine.”
