The Light Blues head to Parkhead looking to make it back-to-back victories over our rivals in their home.
Head Coach Danny Röhl and his squad recorded wins over Motherwell and St Mirren as the year came to a close, and skipper Tavernier says the team is striving for consistency.
Speaking to the media, he said: “We are really excited for this game, we ended 2025 on a good note against a tough side in St Mirren.
“This is another challenge, but we are excited to see what it brings.
“We always want to be in with a shout of the title. Consistency is key in any season; you need to put in performances and results together to get you in with a shout.
“We have had setbacks, but we are working really hard to put ourselves in with a shout, and tomorrow is another game that we are going to try to get three points.
“We will fight all the way to the end, but we have to put in a good performance, and like the semi-final, it will come down to clinical moments, and we have to take them.
“It is a cliché, but we have to focus on ourselves. We know we are not perfect, but we are training really hard and putting in performances we want, but the main thing is getting the points.
“I can deal with the emotion of this game comfortably. From the fans’ point of view, three points are the main thing.
“If we go there and win, it will give us confidence, but you need to be humble about it.
“It is a unique season, and it is the first time it’s happened since I have been here.
“It might be good for people outside to see different teams involved, but we have our ambitions and aims.
“From where we were, some people might have written us off, but we have kept our heads down, been chipping away, and we need to keep that consistency high.”
The captain believes the squad have made significant steps forward since the arrival of the German gaffer.
Tavernier knows there are still improvements to be made and says the players experiencing this fixture for the first time have to embrace it.
He added: “We have had longer on the training pitch and we have adapted to the different styles of how we want to play.
“It will be hostile, but you have to enjoy it and embrace it. When the game comes, you have to stay calm.
There will be moments when they have the ball or chances, but you have to be cool, calm and collected and embrace it and give it your all.”
