STEVEN GERRARD has named his side as Rangers step-up their pre-season preparations with Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal the visitors to Ibrox today.
After a whole week of training following the match with Tranmere last weekend, Gerrard has named Allan McGregor, James Tavernier, Calvin Bassey, John Lundstram, Connor Goldson, Ianis Hagi, Jermain Defoe, Steven Davis, Glen Kamara, Kemar Roofe and Leon Balogun in his starting XI.
There are plenty of options on the bench for Gerrard, with Nathan Patterson and John McLaughlin joining Kamara in the squad following their exploits at the European Championsips, and as always with friendly matches, its likely we’ll see a number of them through the afternoon.
The Gunners provide a fantastic test for Gers ahead of the Scottish Premiership season beginning in a fortnight, and the Champions League qualifiers starting a few days after that.
