Indeed, Russell Martin’s side will host a pair of friendly matches behind closed doors this week, which will provide the Gers Head Coach with the opportunity to prepare his squad for the forthcoming competitive action in a private setting.
This environment offers the Head Coach the option to trial lineups and tactics away from media, and most importantly, opposition attention, test player combinations, and provides more flexibility for timings, fitness management and tactical adjustments.
Please note there will be no coverage of either match, allowing Martin and his players to step up the intensity ahead of next Tuesday evening’s UEFA Champions League second qualifying round first leg clash against Panathinaikos at Ibrox.

KDM Evolution Trophy Fixture Launch
The fixture launch for the inaugural league phase of the 2025/26 KDM Evolution Trophy will take place on Thursday at 1pm.
The young Gers will compete in the revamped competition, with each team playing six league phase matches on a broadly regionalised basis and the top 22 progressing to the knockout stages.
The fixture launch will be broadcast on the SPFL YouTube channel, while confirmation of Rangers’ opponents will be communicated across our official website and on X @RFC_Youth.

Hartlepool United v Rangers Under-19s – The Prestige Group Stadium – Kick-off 15:00
The young Gers will square off against National League opposition as they make the trip to face Hartlepool United on Sunday afternoon.
