Goals from Kirsty Howat and Sam Kerr saw Rangers continue their strong start to the Scottish Women’s Premier League season as they picked up another three points.
Speaking to RangersTV at full-time, Thomson said: “I am really pleased given the journey that the players have had and the amount of games they have had to play in a short space of time.
“I thought they were excellent, especially in the second-half. Hearts had a go at us, they would've looked at us coming back from Europe and known we had travelled and played two really stiff games out there.
“All in all, our domination was there and we controlled the play. We had to deal with them on the counter on a couple of occasions but overall I am delighted with their attitude.”
On the back of UEFA Women’s Champions League football, Thomson was pleased the way his squad pushed on in the second-half at Rangers Training Centre.
He added: “They have got a resilience about themselves and I think they are now understanding the rigours of full-time professional football. It is a real mentality which I think they showed again tonight.
"I thought some of the play was excellent, over the two halves especially in the second-half we really upped the energy levels and got a real press on them.
“There will be a session tomorrow for purely recovery and we will go again on Sunday against Hamilton.”
