The Gers passed up several chances in the second half in Edinburgh, dropping points in a match for only the third time this season.
Speaking to RangersTV after the game, Thomson reflected on the draw: “The only thing that we can question is the scoreline.
"We had enough possession in the game, we did create chances, but we’ve got to take the chances. It’s something that we’ll find, as the seasons go on, that you need to be clinical, especially when you have as much of the ball as we have. When we create chances, we must score.
“The one thing that is pleasing is that the girls have got an endeavour, the effort and application is great. The way that they play, and the style they play in, is evident for all to see.
"I think sometimes when we got the ball in wide areas, we were making the wrong runs and we should have been leaving our wide players one-versus-one to go and take them on, that’s where our strengths are.
"It’s something that we’ll pick up next week and move on. It definitely adds a different dimension to it, but that’s part of development and the growth of this team.”
Setbacks in the league have been few and far between for the Gers this season, but Thomson admits that his side can use today as a learning curve for the remainder of the season.
He continued: “We’ve encountered all different types of problems in the three years that I’ve been here. We have to dust ourselves down now and get back to training with the same positive mental attitude and approach to things which we’ll do.
“Every game is important. The expectation levels that are put on a Rangers team, whether it’s men’s or women’s, is that you must win. The disappointing part for me, if you want to use that word, is in front of goal. We must take our chances.”
