Rangers headed into the game off the back of their first league defeat in a year and a half and Thomson was pleased his side stuck together to pick up three points at Broadwood.
Speaking to RangersTV at full-time, he said: “I was pleased I got a positive reaction, it is always difficult off the back of the Celtic result so fair play to the girls they stuck together and I thought we had some decent performances.
“We created some of our own problems tonight in terms of the speed of play, we were slow to try and work the ball and I thought we could've been a bit more crisp. We spoke about that at half-time and to be fair in the second-half they came out and reduced the number of touches on the ball. They put a bit more pace on their passing and it culminated in us creating more chances and getting five goals.
“This team has proven that when they get on top and then they get the goals it puts a calmness about them. Getting the second goal was vitally important because it then gave us the platform to go and build from there and they managed to do that, and we had some great goals.”
With 10 minutes of the match remaining, Thomson introduced 15-year-old Laura Berry for her Rangers debut. He was impressed with how she handled the moment, while he also praised the experienced players for their support.
He continued: “It is part of my job at the club that we develop players from the youth and give them the opportunity. Laura is a good player, she plays well in advance of her years and we know what she is capable of.
“It is about trusting her and not putting her into an environment that she can't handle but I think you could see tonight she can definitely handle that, and the experienced players help her as well.”
