The 18-year-old striker netted a hat-trick at the Slavia Stadium, but said the result was the most important thing for the Light Blues to take into the second-leg on December 7.
Speaking to RangersTV at full-time, he said: "I am more pleased that we have got a 4-2 lead heading into the second-leg now, we are halfway there and we are looking good going into the second-leg. It is obviously pleasing to score a hat-trick when one of my biggest impacts on the game is to score goals.
"The mentality was key and we had to show a bit of character to get back in the game but I think the two goals were sloppy to lose so that is something we need to do better.
"Going down 2-1 it did look like there was going to have to be a lot of work done to get a result but we got there and we had good spirit.
"We still didn't reach our highest levels but I am sure we will next game. In terms of the quality and getting the goals I thought we took them well and we worked well to get them. We tried to give everything we have got an we just battled it out."
Next up for the squad will be the B team's SPFL Trust Trophy quarter-final against Cove Rangers on Tuesday, and Weston says focus will now turn to that.
He continued: "We will park this result and we are looking to recover, get home safe and then looking to Cove in the cup.
"We are just taking it game by game and when the next leg comes around I am sure we will be ready."
