Vaclav Cerny Delighted With Win

VACLAV CERNY was delighted with a ‘big win’ from his side this evening as Rangers claimed another three points in the UEFA Europa League League phase.

The Light Blues responded from their weekend disappointment in impressive fashion with a 4-0 win over FCSB with the winger on hand to score a brace and assist the opener.

Speaking to RangersTV after their second win in the competition this season, he commented: “It was a big win, a great win which we needed after the weekend.

“Obviously we are all happy about that and it is a good push for the next weekend.

“My goals? I would say very good two team goals, the first one was from the high press, a ball in and good finish and the second goal was a play from behind and a very direct one and a good finish as well.”

The Czech Republic international highlighted the early goal from Tom Lawrence to help the side kick on in what was a controlled performance throughout the evening.

He continued: “Early goal setting the tone? Yes, we played like what we wanted to, we dominated I would say and it gives you a good feeling so overall a very positive evening not only for us as a squad but as a whole for Rangers.”

The 27-year-old spoke of playing under the Ibrox lights on another European night as they now look to respond in domestic action when they host St Mirren this weekend.

He added: “It is amazing, so special, to experience that stage it is very special every single game so I enjoyed it a lot.

“We just need to recover very fast and get to focus to Sunday.”
