Rangers lost 8-1 to the FA Women’s Super League side but Vignal was positive over what his side would learn from the challenge.
He said: “I’m really happy because it was a really good test.
“I think they learned about different aspects, tactically, technically, physically and mentally, because this is what you need if you want to play at a high level so today they have seen a lot from Liverpool.
“We need to close the gap and I hope that we can do this in one or two years time but it will be difficult.
“At the moment at the club we have got the right things, the right people, the right structure and I am really really positive.”
Rangers had an early set-back as goalkeeper Khym Ramsay had to come off injured after just 18 minutes. With no substitute goalkeeper Ramsay was initially replaced in goal by Ellis Dalgliesh before a Liverpool substitute keep took up position between the sticks for Rangers.
Vignal added: “The problem with Khym is she is training two days a week because she is working, hopefully she will be back soon but with a hamstring you could be out for maybe six weeks.
“I need to find a goalkeeper right now so we will see but Khym does really well and she has been unlucky today.”
Next up for Vignal’s side is top of the league Glasgow City next Sunday.
He continued: “It will be a tough game against Glasgow City who play at Champions League level.
“First the girls will get a day off tomorrow for recovery and after that we will start again to prepare for the Glasgow City game because it is an important game.”
