The women’s captain spoke to RangersTV following this afternoon’s 8-1 defeat to FA Women’s Super League side Liverpool, and said the game showed Rangers the levels they hope to reach as a team.
She said: “It was a really difficult game for us obviously Liverpool are a really really good side you can see that with the intensity and the movement.
“It wass great for everybody it just shows the levels that you can get to and that is where we want to be as a team, it is going to be a lot of hard work.
Gemmell feels progress had been made since the changes in the women’s side of the club and hopes they can continue to push.
She continued: “Definitely, you can obviously see what Greg’s working on and it is coming into games slowly but surely but just not enough at the minute I would say.
“The girls are trying, you can see that it has got better but we just need to push on with that.
“Obviously playing this game it was high intensity so hopefully that will prepare us for going into that game and all we can do is work hard in training this week and prepare for it the best way we can.
