The Gers boasted a 100 per cent record across the first month of the calendar year, netting 11 times in four competitive outings.
The following players are up for nomination:
John Lundstram – The 29-year-old netted his side’s first goal following their return from the winter break when he stole in at the far post to nod in the opener against Dumbarton in the Scottish Cup.
He has continued to grow from strength to strength since, laying on a terrific lofted pass for Ridvan Yilmaz to break the deadlock at Easter Road four days later before doing likewise to assist Cyriel Dessers’ solitary strike against St. Mirren.
Jack Butland – Only a Danny Armstrong spot-kick prevented Butland from three clean sheets in as many opportunities across the month of January.
Indeed, the 30-year-old shot stopper made a string of important saves to help Rangers on their way to a 3-0 success over Hibernian at Easter Road.
John Souttar – The Scotland international played every minute available in the month of January as he continues to showcase his defensive solidity under Philippe Clement.
The 27-year-old was peerless in the absence of Connor Goldson in the victory over Hibernian, with the Gers boss spoiled for choice in his options at the heart of the defence.
Cyriel Dessers – The Nigerian was serenaded by the travelling Rangers supporters in the victory in Edinburgh last month after producing a clever finish to seal three points off the bench.
His three goals and solitary assist across the month of January powered the Gers to a 100 per cent record, showing tremendous composure to net the only goal of the game in a hard-fought win away to St. Mirren.
Ridvan Yilmaz – The Turkish international enjoyed perhaps his finest month in a Rangers jersey as he netted his first league goal in Rangers colours.
And it was a memorable one, too, as he controlled Lundstram’s floated pass and dispatched beyond David Marshall at his near post, which followed his assist in his previous league outing against Kilmarnock.
