Three Gers players will be represented in the Scotland women’s national team squad as World Cup qualifiers get underway for next summer’s finals to be played in Brazil.
Melissa Andreatta’s team have been drawn in a group alongside Israel, Belgium and Luxembourg with a double header against the latter up first.
They will firstly train this week before facing the team on Tuesday evening, before welcoming them back to Barclays Hampden as they target the best possible start in their quest to reach the tournament for the second time and first since 2019.
Laura Rafferty – Northern Ireland

Northern Ireland v Turkey – FIFA Women’s World Cup Qualifier – Saturday, 7 March – Kick-off 19:00
After returning to full fitness in recent months after a torrid time out with injury, a nice personal moment arrived for the defender as she was recalled into the Northern Ireland squad for the break.
It’s the beginning of their respective qualifiers, having been drawn to face Malta, Switzerland and Turkey.
They are firstly in action against the Swiss on Tuesday evening, before hosting Turkey at Mourneview Park next Saturday.
Calliste Brookshire – Greece
Greece v Georgia – FIFA Women’s World Cup Qualifier – Tuesday, 3 March – Kick-off 16:30
Greece v Faroe Islands – FIFA Women’s World Cup Qualifier – Saturday, 7 March – Kick-off 18:30
Light Blues January recruit Calliste Brookshire will join up with the Greece squad as their respective qualifying campaign gets underway.
The winger has made an instant impact at the Gers since her move as a free agent, notably scoring the equaliser in the 1-1 away draw with Glasgow City last month.
She will look to take that form into national team level and add to her four caps to date, as they face off in two home outings against Georgia and the Faroe Islands in their three-team group.
Quinty Sabajo – Suriname
Suriname v Haiti – CONCACAF Championship Qualifier – Tuesday, 3 March – Kick-off 22:00 (UK)
Quinty will make the long trip across the Atlantic during the break as her nation attempts to continue in their sights to achieve World Cup qualification for next summer’s finals.
A tough test against Haiti on Tuesday evening awaits, who pose the threats of the likes of Olympique Lyon’s Melchie Dumornay among their ranks.
Shin Ji Kim – South Korea
South Korea v Iran – AFC Women’s Asian Cup – Monday, 2 March – Kick-off 09:00 (UK)
Philippines v South Korea – AFC Women’s Asian Cup – Thursday, 5 March – Kick-off 03:00 (UK)
Australia v South Korea – AFC Women’s Asian Cup – Sunday, 8 March – Kick-off 09:00 (UK)
Shin Ji will head to Australia over the international break as South Korea participate in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup.
Her nation will begin their tournament on Monday morning, as they face off against Iran, with further group outings against the Philippines and the host nation to come.
South Korea were runners-up in 2022 and will look to go one better this time around, having featured in every edition of the finals since making their debut back in 1991.
Li Mengwen – China
China v Bangladesh – AFC Women’s Asian Cup – Tuesday, 3 March – Kick-off 08:00 (UK)
Uzbekistan v China – AFC Women’s Asian Cup – Friday, 6 March – Kick-off 08:00 (UK)
North Korea v China – AFC Women’s Asian Cup – Monday, 9 March – Kick-off 09:00 (UK)
Li and China will also head to the Asian Cup over the break as defending champions as they look to retain their crown down under.
They have been drawn in a group alongside Bangladesh, Uzbekistan and North Korea and get their campaign underway next Tuesday morning as they look to claim the cup for a 10th time.
The competition will serve as the final stage of Asian qualification for next summer’s World Cup finals and will also serve as the penultimate qualifying stage for the 2028 Olympic Games.
Jodi McLeary – Scotland Under-23s
Scotland Under-23s v Netherlands Under-23s – International Friendly – Monday, 2 March – Kick-off 19:00
Jodi will be the sole representative from the Rangers squad for the Scotland Under-23s as they take on the Netherlands in a friendly in Inverness.
The team will make the long trip north and face a stern test against the Dutch, with the young Scots participating in a new games programme at this level.
McLeary has captained the nation at that age group on occasion in the past, as she looks to keep making positive strides in what has been a productive season for the youngster.

May and England will travel to Spain for a preparation camp as they build towards the final round of qualifying for the UEFA Women’s Under-19 European Championships, as well as the FIFA Under 20s Women’s World Cup taking place in Poland in September.
The group made up of players of both 19s and 20s age groups, will partake in three friendly outings at the Albir Garden Resort.
Having signed her first professional contract with the Light Blues last summer, the 16-year-old has continued to make positive strides, earning her first caps for her nation at youth level in the first half of the season.

Belgium Under-19s v Scotland Under-19s – International Friendly – Saturday, 28 February – Kick-off 15:00

Five young Gers will be part of the Scotland Under-19s squad as they take on Belgium in a pair of friendly matches at The Proximus Basecamp, Tubize, over the next week.
The matches will serve as preparation for the upcoming Round Two UEFA European qualifier, which the team progressed to after finishing second in Round One behind Norway and ahead of the Netherlands and Croatia.
Striker Laura Berry has been in fine club form of late, scoring nine goals in her last four outings and will be joined by teammates Sophie Black and Lily Boyce, as well as Motherwell loan pairing of Sophie Townsley and Mia McArthur.
Soffia Kelly – Wales Under-19s
Portugal Under-19s v Wales Under-19s – International Friendly – Friday, 27 February – Kick-off – 15:00
Wales Under-19s v USA Under-19s – International Friendly – Monday, 2 March – Kick-off – 15:00
Czech Republic Under-19s v Wales Under-19s – International Friendly – Thursday, 5 March – Kick-off – 12:00
Soffia and her nation will head to São João da Madeira, Portugal, to participate in a friendly tournament over the break.
They will partake in a trio of matches having retained their League A status for the 2025/26 UEFA WU19 EURO qualifiers during the last international window. They will face England, Switzerland and Latvia in Group A1 in April.
Kelly, who joined the Gers on loan from Aston Villa in January, is yet to make her debut for the club, but will hope for minutes at national team youth level over the break having been part of the senior squad for last summer’s Euros.
