The big defender played the full 90 minutes in Saturday’s 2-1 Viaplay Cup win over Morton at Ibrox to help book a quarter-final spot.
The 20-year-old was on the first-team training camp in Germany this summer and thanked gaffer Michael Beale and his coaching staff for showing confidence in his ability so far this season.
He said: “How did I enjoy my debut? I really enjoyed it, it was a good game.
“We could probably have scored a few more goals but I enjoyed my first game.
“The gaffer told me I still have a lot to learn and I need to keep myself fit, keep working hard on the training pitch and take in the information I have been given.
“The last few months have been really good and the coaching staff have put a lot of faith in me.
“They have been working closely with me and I feel like I am improving and getting smarter every day and it is thanks to them for putting so much time in my development.
“I am just trying to get better and see where I can get to in my career.
“Hopefully I can stay in the first-team, but I just have to focus on my own development.”
