The English winger, still only 17, was a second half substitute after being called into the squad late on Thursday evening after Oliver Antman was struck by illness.
Speaking to RangersTV after the game, a delighted Lawson beamed: “I was over the moon. I couldn’t imagine what it felt like coming on. It was as good as they say.
“I was in my room when I got called. I got shouted and I was just so happy! I called my mum, my dad, and they wouldn’t let me off the phone the whole day. It was really good.
“It was a great moment. It was a proud moment for all of them, for me too, and for all of the people that have helped me get here. It’s been a good journey.
“It gives me so much more motivation to push forward, put in extra, and continue doing what I’m doing.”
Lawson featured for Gers Under-19s against Annan in KDM Evolution Trophy action earlier this season.
It was the winger’s first appearance after making the move from Brighton & Hove Albion, and he revealed the pre-match advice shared by Röhl last night.
He added: “Before the match he was telling me to make sure that I’m ready, to make sure that I do what I do, and not to let the pressure get to me.
“Annan was my debut for the Under-19s funnily enough. I think it was good times both times around. In both games I came on and did my thing.
"[I came to the club] for moments like this. To play on that field, play first-team football, and to show what I can to help us win.”
