A first half double from Jodi McLeary was added to by Hannah Blake, Katie Wilkinson and Calliste Brookshire as the Gers got the better of their rivals.
Crichton believes her side’s dominance in the second half paved the way for victory. Speaking to RangersTV she said: “I thought the second half we started much, much better than the first. Albeit you then conceded and it goes 2-2.
“It's probably a real big test of character for the players because to get yourself back in front in this type of game and knowing how much pressure rides in the game based on the context of the week and the output from the group.
“I thought overall their application in the second half and the dominance that we showed certainly in the last 30 minutes of the second half was outstanding.
“You saw the strength of the group as well, moments of quality. Players like Hannah came into the game and then we saw a moment of magic from Wilko.
“I could go through the whole team because everybody played their part. I think what you see was a real togetherness in the group to make sure we got the job done.”
“It's another good three points against our biggest rivals and we'll take that and we'll use that as a momentum and a consistency booster as we move forward.”
McLeary’s volley drew the Gers level before she notched another with a cool finish through the keeper’s legs.
Crichton praised the midfielder particularly after suffering from illness earlier in the week.
She added: “She's had a tough week, Jodi wasn't feeling well over in Sweden.
“She dug out a performance for us over there and today was no different. Jodi's got real quality and she's had my backing from the minute I came in the door.
“Today probably just sums up her performance levels. When she adds goals to her game as well, I think it elevates her to a completely different level.
“She's got the ability to go and be that box-to-box midfielder. I thought there was a maturity to her performance in the second half as well.”
The team now look ahead to another three-game week as they play Hammarby IF in the second leg of their Europa Cup clash.
The Gers are 2-0 down after the first leg in Sweden, but Crichton insists the tie is not over and asks the supporters to back the team again on Wednesday night.
She said: “We want to turn the tie around, we want to go and get that first goal and get back into the tie and I've got every belief in the group that we can do that.
“The players now need to mentally prepare for a different type of challenge.
“We want the fans to be here, I've said that since the minute I came in the door. I don't care if it adds more pressure to the players when there's bums on seats.
“But I think when you look at our fan base and everything, they've given both the men's and the women's teams this season, it could be a really exciting one. So hopefully they'll be there with us.”
