The Light Blues were one of the only sides in action across Scotland this afternoon, with other fixtures postponed due to an amber weather warning for high winds.
However, Rangers showed little disruption from the challenging conditions as they continued their perfect start to the ScottishPower Women’s Premier League season with a 4-0 victory, recording their tenth consecutive league win.
Speaking to RangersTV after the match, Crichton reflected on the difficult conditions and the team’s ability to maintain their standards despite a demanding schedule.
She said: “It's been a big week in the magnitude of the games.
“I think at the start of the day, with the anxiety that potentially the game could have been off.
“I don't think it's great for the players, but I thought overall the focus and how everybody handled the preparations allowed a really convincing and controlled performance.
“They [Motherwell] look to try and play through the thirds, but probably the conditions today forced them to be a bit more direct.
“We wanted to try and stop that at source, and I felt we managed to do that.
“The good thing is we're a footballing team. We want to keep the ball on the ground. We want to move it. We want to play.
“So, for the most part of the game, I felt we stuck to those principles.”
The head coach was also pleased to see Rangers’ attacking players make their mark, with Brogan Hay returning to the starting lineup and scoring twice in the second half.
With squad rotation and depth proving particularly important during a busy week, Crichton praised Hay’s contribution and the competition for places within the group.
She continued: “It's brilliant for Brogan. She's been brilliant for us, probably at points frustrated in terms of injuries that she's had.
“How competitive the group is just now, certainly that middle to front area of the pitch.
“We’ve got fluidity in players that we can bring in that offer different attributes, but Brogan's always knocking on the door.
“She has a huge influence on the group, but I'm really pleased for her today.
“I think there were moments that we probably lacked in the first half, just that energy, and I'm conscious that we're coming off a big effort on Wednesday night.
“It’s being realistic with the group but still trying to keep those demands.
“Brogan was one of the players today that rose to those demands.”
There was a special moment for Sarah Ewens today, who made her return to the pitch after 686 days away from action.
Crichton was delighted to see the forward back on the field after a lengthy and challenging journey, praising the determination she has shown throughout her recovery.
She added: “It's amazing for Sarah. What a journey she's been on. A really turbulent and emotional rollercoaster.
“I know how hard and tirelessly she's worked, how admirably she's took on the setbacks as well.
“It's really pleasing that today gave us that opportunity and we could get her back onto the pitch.”
Attention now turns to cup action, with Rangers set to welcome Partick Thistle to Broadwood Stadium in the Sky Sports Cup next weekend.
Crichton is keen for her side to carry their impressive league form into the competition as they look to continue their progress on all fronts.
She added: “We've been super consistent from the start of the season and we're in a really good place now.
“We want to progress as far as we can within every competition.
“Next weekend against Partick Thistle is another opportunity to go after it against a good side.
“We can park the league certainly for one weekend and shift that focus to the cup.”
