The men’s first-team will wear home shirts featuring the poppy against St Johnstone on Saturday, 24 October at Ibrox, our last home match before Remembrance Day, as well as in the fixture against St Mirren on Saturday, 7 November.
Our women’s first-team will also wear home shirts featuring the poppy against Hearts on Sunday, 8 November in their match at Broadwood.
Poppyscotland provides support for current and former members of the Armed Forces as well as their families, in recognition of their sacrifices and service.
The charity helps countless men, women and families with issues linked to their time in the Armed Forces or with struggles adjusting from military to civilian life.
Services provided by Poppyscotland include financial support, advice, help with mobility issues, housing and mental health.
A collection for Poppyscotland will also take place at our match against St Johnstone, with dual branded pin badges being sold in the museum shop at Edmiston House.
Rangers are proud to support Poppyscotland, our Charity Foundation and show support to our Armed Forces veterans.
In addition to launching the limited-edition poppy kit, there are various initiatives over this period of Remembrance and beyond which support veterans across the country, including via Poppyscotland, Veterans Housing Scotland, and the Rangers Charity Foundation’s own Veterans at Ease programme.
As part of these initiatives, supported by our partner, MatchWornShirt, select limited-edition poppy jerseys from the matches against St Johnstone and St Mirren will also be made available for auction, with all proceeds received supporting the Foundation’s Armed Forces Fund and their wider work in the community.
Details of how to bid for these jerseys will be made available on club channels following the fixtures.
Rangers Charity Foundation Chief Executive, Connal Cochrane, said: “We are grateful to Castore and Rangers for the inclusion of a charitable donation from the poppy kits.
“All charitable donations from this initiative will go to Poppyscotland, with the Foundation making a minimum pledge to donate £5,000 to Poppyscotland as one of the beneficiaries of our Armed Forces Fund.
“We have a long and proud tradition of supporting our Armed Forces and veterans and will be marking Remembrance at Ibrox on Saturday, 24 October and at Broadwood on Sunday, 8 November.
“The Foundation has donated over £284,000 in cash to Armed Forces and Veterans charities to date, as well as significant in-kind support.”
