Bojan Miovski gave Rangers the advantage with his first league goal for the club, before Henry Cartwright levelled the match at the Falkirk Stadium.
There were four changes from the team which lined-up in Graz on Thursday evening as Nasser Djiga, Joe Rothwell, Mikey Moore and Bojan Miovski all came in from the start.
Jayden Meghoma, Thelo Aasgaard, Oliver Antman and Youssef Chermiti were all named among the substitutes this afternoon.
Rangers started with Jack Butland in goal, behind a back four of captain James Tavernier, John Souttar, Nasser Djiga and Derek Cornelius.
Rothwell was in midfield alongside Connor Barron and Nico Raskin, while Djeidi Gassama retained his place in the front line and was joined there by Mikey Moore and Bojan Miovski.
It was Rangers who got the action underway, as they looked for a second Scottish Premiership victory on the bounce. It was almost the perfect start as with 4 minutes played the ball was in the back of the net.
James Tavernier lifted a high pass over the top of the Falkirk defence and into the path of Mikey Moore. The on-loan Spurs winger cut inside and struck the ball towards goal, but Scott Bain was able to block. Djeidi Gassama was alert to fire home the rebound, but the linesman raised his flag for offside.
After a VAR check it was confirmed Moore had strayed just offside in the initial build-up and the goal was disallowed.
James Tavernier came close with 14 minutes played as the ball broke for the skipper outside the box and he released a right-footed strike towards goal, but it curled just wide of the target.
A free-kick opened up another opportunity for Tavernier, after Nico Raskin was brought down just outside of the box in a central area, but he was unable to keep his free-kick down as it drifted over the bar.
At the other end, Ross MacIver threatened with a right-footed close-range shot which Butland did well to block with his feet, before Kyrell Wilson dragged his rebound attempt just wide of the left-hand post.
Ethan Williams almost took advantage of a mix-up at the back for Rangers, as he picked up the ball in a dangerous area and sent a bouncing strike towards goal, but thankfully for Gers it was just wide.
It was Russell Martin’s men who found the crucial breakthrough with 41 minutes played. Joe Rothwell chased a ball down on the left, and did well to gather before linking-up with Djeidi Gassama and Derek Cornelius. The latter sent a ball across the face of goal, which Bojan Miovski was able to touch home from close range with his first Scottish Premiership goal for Rangers.
In the second-half, Calvin Miller saw a header deflected wide for the home side as he got on the end of an Alfredo Agyeman cross.
Youssef Chermiti and Oliver Antman were introduced by Russell Martin for the final half an hour at the Falkirk Stadium as they came on to replace Mikey Moore and Bojan Miovski.
Agyeman again provided a dangerous delivery into the area shortly after, with MacIver the target this time as he sent a header just wide.
Chermiti had a strong effort saved by Scott Bain after he showed strength to hold off the Falkirk defenders to get a shot away, but it was held by the goalkeeper.
It was the home side however, who got the next goal as they drew level with just over 15 minutes remaining. Henry Cartwright, who had just been introduced by John McGlynn was able to find the back of the net with a powerful strike which deflected in off John Souttar. Jack Butland denied Brian Graham in the final minutes of the 90 with a strike from inside the box, which the Rangers number one was able to gather.
